Why this size, specifically
The best-evidenced size on this site: two current 2026 guides publish a 60m² figure directly, and for once they broadly agree. MyBuilder says £2,400 to £4,200, MyJobQuote says £3,500 to £5,500. The overlap, £3,500 to £4,200, is about as close to a defensible UK number as published data gets.
The labour split is published for this size
MyJobQuote breaks 60m² down as £2,400 to £3,800 of materials and £1,100 to £1,700 of labour over two to three days, at a day rate of £300 to £500. That is a useful sanity check: if a quote has labour at a third of the total, it is in line with the published split.
Irregular shapes cost more than the area suggests
Checkatrade notes that larger or irregularly shaped areas need more materials and labour time. A 60m² L-shape round the side of a house has far more edge per m² than a 60m² rectangle, and edging is charged by the metre.
Laying speed sets the day count
Checkatrade states resin must be laid at about 20 metres per hour for the mix to go down properly. That is a physical constraint, not a padding exercise — a crew that promises 60m² finished in a morning is cutting something.
